About Riverqastro
Who Is Behind the Riverqastro Concierge Model?
A team of registered property professionals based in Nakuru, operating with a clear methodology and without inflated promises.
The Firm: Origin, Method, and Market Focus
Riverqastro was established in Nakuru in 2017 by a group of property professionals who had spent the preceding decade working in commercial valuation and residential agency across Central and Rift Valley Kenya. The founding decision was deliberate: rather than compete with high-volume national agencies on listing count, the firm would limit its portfolio size and invest the difference in the depth of each client relationship. Today, Riverqastro operates with a team of eight — four licensed real estate agents, two registered valuers, and two transaction administrators. The firm's primary market is Nakuru Municipality and the immediately surrounding sub-counties, including Naivasha to the south, Njoro to the west, and the Gilgil corridor to the north. In seven years of operation, the team has facilitated over 340 completed transactions, spanning residential sales, commercial leases, agricultural land transfers, and institutional valuations for banking and insurance clients. The emerald-fresh aesthetic you see across the firm's materials reflects a broader operational philosophy: clarity, organisation, and the consistent removal of unnecessary complexity from what can otherwise be an opaque process.
How Riverqastro Serves Clients — and Where the Limits Are
Every client engagement begins with a written brief — a structured document that records the client's requirements, timeline, budget ceiling, and intended use of the property. The brief becomes the reference point for every advisory conversation thereafter, preventing the drift that occurs when verbal instructions are interpreted differently by different parties. Advisors are expected to contact clients with a substantive update at a minimum of once per week during an active search or transaction. Riverqastro does not handle property management contracts for more than twelve units under single ownership; clients requiring large-scale block management are directed to specialist firms that carry the appropriate infrastructure. The firm also does not provide conveyancing services directly — a qualified advocate is always engaged for the legal transfer — and it does not offer mortgage brokerage. Market valuations reflect conditions at the date of assessment; property markets in Kenya are subject to macro-economic, regulatory, and infrastructure variables that no advisor can control or predict with certainty. Clients are advised in writing of these limitations at the outset of every engagement, so that expectations are calibrated accurately from day one.
“We engaged Riverqastro for a valuation of a mixed-use building we were considering acquiring on behalf of a client. The report arrived in four working days, used clearly sourced comparable data, and flagged a planning encumbrance that the vendor had not disclosed. That single observation saved our client a very significant renegotiation problem. We now refer all Nakuru-area instructions to Riverqastro as a matter of course.”
